Crystals & Stones

This zone will include healing as well as metaphysical properties of crystals, minerals, stones and rocks. More will come up as new questions and discussions occur within the zone.\r\nA really good source of basic information is a website called Crystal Vaults, much of the information included here about the basics of crystals will be from there. The information there is by no means exhaustive and to be clear form the beginning they are indeed in sales and no, I don't work for them nor do I stand to gain a thing by linking them, their info is just a useful starting point. I include this "go-to" for quick information as the tip of a  very large iceberg that is only the beginning of a long journey to learning more. Consider it a catalyst to knowledge that will hopefully lead to the wisdom that comes in the experiences birthed by that knowledge. It will start off as very basic "stuff" and expand in time. Turquoise is old school, it is one of the oldest stones around and has been used in almost every culture, most notably in China and Native America. A stone of protection from all things, most notably falls, especially off of horses which is why it was historically popular with soldiers and warriors. It was also said to protect burial sites and Native Americans are most known for using it top that purpose.

Turquoise has long been a symbol of wisdom and nobility and is associated with immortality. It is also said to be associated with the sky and with our ancestors both in the big and little pictures. It brings serenity and lifts spirits. Turquoise is even said to be a bridge, where possible, between past lives and fate. It is said to be a stone of truth and wholeness, it is also said that often people who wear it have those qualities. It is also said of those who wear it that they are a friendly lot, this is why turquoise is a stone of friendship among many tribal and nomadic cultures

associated with prophecy and divination of all kinds as it enhances communication between the physical and spirit realms by creating balance between them. Placed on the third eye it is said to increase intuition and promote deep meditation. Placed on the throat chakra it is said to release on from old outdated promises or vows we have made that no longer benefit growth and in fact may be impeding it. Sometimes it comes from a sense of duty and that might make it more difficult but turquoise also strengthen the warrior within and represents the sure footed horse moving forward in the right direction.

It helps with self respect issues on whatever level is needed. Turquoise is a stone that easily and strongly resonates to anyone who wears it. The answers to certain questions just become apparent and what to do becomes apparent especially as the circumstances pertain to self forgiveness and self-acceptance.

There is a theory that the stone actually changes color over time as a person carries it. The theory extends to death saying that the stone will turn so pale as to be almost white when the bearer dies. Once a new, healthy owner takes possession of the stone the color will deepen a bit each day.

While traveling it protects from theft or attack, there is powerful protection and grounding here which is helpful when tramping in new territory.

Turquoise is good for exhaustion, depression and panic attacks. It enhances physical and mental immunity so is a good overall healing stone. It’s anti-inflammatory and detoxifying reducing excess acidity  and helping with rheumatism and gout. It also helps with maladies of the brain, ears, eyes and throat. Basically, of the entire head, which is why it is effective for headaches and migraines. It is reported to treat cataracts and vertigo as well as stabilize mood swings.
